Mysterious Death of Paint Mechanic in Golaghat Market

A body was discovered at Golaghat Municipality Board’s vegetable market on Thursday morning, identified as Gopal Chetri from Golaghat Mission Compound. Chetri, a paint mechanic, left for work at 11 am on Wednesday but did not return home, nor did he answer his family’s calls that night.

Locals found his body on the market stairs and informed his family and the police. The body was sent to Shaheed Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital for a postmortem. The incident has caused a stir in the Golaghat market area, and the cause of death remains unknown. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
