Mysterious Illness Claims 14 Lives in Assam’s Goalpara District; Jaundice-Like Symptoms Emerge

In a distressing incident, 14 people have lost their lives due to a mysterious illness affecting multiple villages in Assam’s Goalpara district. The ailment, exhibiting symptoms similar to jaundice, has afflicted over 60 individuals in villages including No. 1 Borjhar-Nadiapara, Dwapara, Bamundanga, Tilapara, Mojaipara, and Chotodamal, sparking fear among the residents. Presently, six individuals are receiving treatment, with one patient referred to Guwahati for advanced medical care. The health department has collected patient samples, and top officials are set to visit the affected village from Guwahati to assess the situation.
