Naga People’s Organisation Bans Commercial Vehicles in Kuki Areas of Manipur

The Naga People’s Organisation (NPO) has imposed a ban on commercial vehicle transportation in Kuki areas of Manipur, effective immediately. This decision aims to restore peace after Kuki individuals confiscated goods from a Naga woman, violating an agreement exempting Naga community members from illegal taxation.

The NPO stated the ban will remain until the Kuki community issues an apology and reaffirms the agreement. The organization also warned that the restrictions may intensify if not addressed.
