Nagaon District Imposes Restrictions on Firecrackers for Diwali and Chhath Puja
To ensure public safety and prevent noise pollution during Diwali and Chhath Puja, Nagaon District Magistrate Narendra Kumar Shah has issued restrictions. Firecrackers can only be burst between 10 pm and 12 am on Diwali, and from 6 am to 10 am on Chhath Puja. Loud firecrackers exceeding 125 DB(A) or 145 DB(C) are banned, and no firecrackers are allowed near hospitals, schools, courts, and other silent zones. Only licensed traders can sell natural firecrackers, and violators will face legal action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyai Sanghita, 2023.
