NEIPDA (GGU) Decides on Protest Closure of Retail Outlets

In a recent development, the Northeast Indian Petroleum Dealers Association (NEIPDA) convened for a General Meeting at its Uzan Bazar office on March 28, 2024. During the meeting, it was unanimously agreed upon that the association would engage in a Protest Closure of No Purchase No Sale, effective from 5:00 AM on March 30, 2024, to 5:00 AM on April 1, 2024.

The decision to initiate the Protest Closure stems from several grievances, primarily the lack of revision in Dealers Commission since 2017, along with other demands and alleged violations of dealer rights. NEIPDA has previously addressed these concerns through correspondence with oil companies, dating back to February 3, 2024, but has yet to receive a satisfactory response.

Despite escalating operational costs associated with running retail outlets (ROs), the dealers find it increasingly challenging to sustain their businesses under current conditions. The impending Protest Closure serves as a collective stance against these challenges.

NEIPDA wishes to notify all electronic and print media outlets about the planned Protest Closure, scheduled to begin at 5:00 AM on March 30, 2024, and conclude at 5:00 AM on April 1, 2024.

For further inquiries or clarifications, NEIPDA members will be available on March 29, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the association’s Registered Office located at House No.56, MG Road, Uzan Bazar Riverside, Guwahati 781001.
