NFR Runs Special Trains as Assam Floods Disrupt Rail Services

Guwahati, July 22: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has introduced additional special trains to assist passengers stranded due to flood-related disruption in Upper Assam. Train services on the Simaluguri–Namtiali and Simaluguri–Selenghat sections remain suspended for the second consecutive day after severe flooding.
NFR said the special trains will operate until Friday, while several long-distance trains have been diverted and some services cancelled or short-terminated to ensure passenger safety.
