NFR Upgrades New Bongaigaon Workshop with Modern LHB Coach Maintenance Facilities

Northeast Frontier Railway has achieved a major milestone in railway modernisation by starting Mid-Life Rehabilitation (MLR) work for LHB coaches at its New Bongaigaon Carriage and Wagon Workshop.

The first rehabilitated coach is nearing completion and will be rolled out soon. The workshop has also commissioned an advanced LHB Bogie Load Testing facility and a mechanised shot blasting machine for bogie frames and bolsters.

According to NFR, these upgrades will improve passenger comfort, operational safety, maintenance efficiency and the overall reliability of modern railway coaches.
