NIA Arrests Five in Manipur Mortar Blast Case

The National Investigation Agency has arrested five individuals linked to the Bishnupur mortar blast in Manipur that killed two children and injured their mother. State Home Minister K Govindas Konthoujam said the accused belong to the banned United Kuki National Liberation Army and are not under the Suspension of Operations pact.
The April 7 blast sparked statewide outrage. The minister also clarified a separate clash involving Assam Rifles personnel as a misunderstanding, with all snatched weapons later recovered. Protests demanding justice continue, keeping tensions high.
