NIA Begins Interrogation of 11 Terror Suspects Arrested in Assam–Tripura

Senior officials of the National Investigation Agency have started interrogating 11 suspected terrorists arrested by the Assam Police STF during Operation Praghat on December 29. Ten accused were held in Assam and one in Tripura.

Police said the suspects are linked to a well-organised extremist network with possible inter-state and transnational connections, including modules associated with banned outfits like Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh. Other state agencies are also expected to join the probe as investigations continue into digital radicalisation, funding sources, and sleeper cells across the Northeast.
