NIA Makes First Arrest in ULFA-I Bomb-Planting Case

The NIA has arrested Girish Bora, alias Gautam, for planting IED-like devices at four locations in Guwahati. He was apprehended in Bengaluru, where he worked as a security guard. This marks the first major arrest since the NIA took over the investigation. Earlier, Assam Police, with NIA’s support, had arrested 15 suspects across the state. ULFA-I had claimed responsibility for planting bombs at over 20 locations in Assam on August 15.
