No BJP Candidate Finalised Yet, Says State President Dilip Saikia

Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia on Thursday clarified that no party candidate has been finalised for any Assembly constituency, stating that only the BJP parliamentary board will announce names. Addressing speculation over Mariani, he said candidate selection will be based on merit, winnability, public acceptance, and organisational strength, not age or seniority. Saikia also criticised the Congress-led Opposition alliance, calling it unclear in vision and lacking public support. He added that talks with ally AGP on seat adjustments are still ongoing.
