No Halt to Smart Meter Installation, Clarifies APDCL
APDCL clarified that neither it nor the Assam Government has ordered a stop to smart meter installations. A now-withdrawn internal order aimed at speeding rural connections caused confusion. APDCL confirmed smart meter rollout will continue as per Ministry of Power and AERC guidelines.
