ONGC successfully capped the gas leak at Well RDS 147A in Sivasagar at 11:30 am on Friday, ending a 16-day blowout that began on June 12. The high-risk operation involved removing a damaged Blowout Preventer and installing a capping stack with international experts. The operation was completed without any injury or fire. ONGC thanked local authorities, the Petroleum Ministry, and the community for their support.
