Opposition Leader Accuses Assam CM of Code Violation During By-Election Campaign

Leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia accused Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of violating the model code of conduct while campaigning for the November 13 by-election in the Behali constituency. In a memorandum to the Election Commission, Saikia claimed that Sarma, as the BJP’s star campaigner, announced new projects and distributed benefits, including a Rs. 100 crore road package, before the polls. Saikia called this an attempt to influence voters and urged immediate action to ensure free and fair elections.
