Over 200 Doctors Deployed in Assam Flood-Hit Districts to Prevent Disease Outbreak

Guwahati, August 7: The Assam Government has deployed more than 200 doctors and paramedics from various medical colleges to flood-affected districts to provide healthcare and prevent disease outbreaks. Health Minister Ashok Singhal said mega health camps are being held regularly, while safe drinking water and sanitation measures are being ensured in coordination with the Public Health Engineering Department.

The minister said no major disease outbreak has been reported so far, although cases of skin infections and fever are being treated. Teams of psychiatrists and psychologists have also been deployed to provide mental health support, while medical services will continue in the affected areas for at least two months.
