Padma Awards 2024: Jatin Goswami Honoured with Padma Bhushan, Others Recognized from Northeast

Sattriya exponent Jatin Goswami received the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Art. Padma Shri recipients from Assam include Joynacharan Bathari, Reba Kanta Mahanta (Art), and Gita Upadhyay, Anil Kumar Boro (Literature & Education). Seven others from the Northeast, including Arunachal’s Jumde Yomgam Gamlin (Social Work) and Nagaland’s L Hangthing (Agriculture), were also awarded. Padma Awards are India’s highest civilian honors announced annually on Republic Day.
