Penalties for illegally disposing of building waste in Guwahati

Following an extensive effort against improper and illegal construction and demolition (C&D) waste dumping in Guwahati Municipal Corporation areas, a team of officials from Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban and Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) jointly discovered several C&D waste dumps located throughout the city.

One construction site and four commercial establishments were sealed and penalised by the team.

The team made an appeal to every Guwahati resident and bulk producer of construction and demolition waste to refrain from disposing of such waste improperly or illegally in the future.
