Pijush Hazarika Questions Opposition to Kaziranga ESZ Proposal

Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika questioned the opposition to the proposed Eco-Sensitive Zone around Kaziranga, recalling that several organisations, including KMSS and AASU, had allegedly protested against the ESZ proposal in 2015.

Hazarika said the government is now proposing a site-specific ESZ of around 1–3 km instead of a blanket 10-km zone, questioning the change in stand of those who had earlier opposed the ESZ proposal.
