Pijush Hazarika Says India Shielded From Major Fuel Price Hike

Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika on Monday said fuel prices in India have increased by only around 5 per cent despite a nearly 40 per cent rise in global oil prices.

Speaking in the Assam Assembly, Hazarika credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Centre’s economic policies for maintaining stability amid global economic uncertainties and rising international fuel costs. The discussion took place during a debate on inflation and its impact on the public.
