Pine Home Eco-Tourism Project Inaugurated in South West Khasi Hills

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated Pine Home, a community-driven eco-tourism project at Mawlangwir village in South West Khasi Hills. The initiative combines sustainable practices with traditional architecture and local craftsmanship, with residents actively involved in its development.

Sangma said the project demonstrates how tourism can grow while protecting nature and respecting local traditions. Pine Home is expected to serve as a model for community-based and environmentally responsible tourism in Meghalaya, creating opportunities for rural communities while preserving the region’s cultural and natural heritage.
