Pipeline Burst Wastes Water Amid Guwahati’s Drinking Water Shortage

A pipeline burst in Milanpur, Chandmari, Guwahati, flooded local streets with thousands of litres of water this morning, compounding the struggles of residents already facing a four-day drinking water shortage.

The valve of the supply pipe malfunctioned during repair work, causing uncontrolled water flow. Locals are frustrated by the mismanagement, while the Guwahati Jal Board had previously warned of possible leaks during hydrotesting in North Guwahati.
