PM Modi Celebrates Diwali with Security Forces in Bastar, Hails Victory Against Naxalism

Bastar, November 8, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with security personnel deployed in anti-Maoist operations in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region on Sunday. Addressing the forces, Modi described Diwali 2026 as historic, claiming that every district in India was now free from Naxalism following decades of insurgency. He praised the courage and sacrifices of security personnel, highlighting that no CRPF jawan had been killed in action over the past year.

However, Modi warned that the threat of what he termed “dimagi Naxals” remained, alleging that individuals promoting extremist ideologies had infiltrated political parties and other organisations. He urged vigilance against such elements while expressing gratitude to security personnel for their dedication to maintaining peace and national security.
