Police Crack Down on Theft Rings in Assam

Basistha Police arrested 21-year-old Hasanur Rahman from Fakirganj, recovering a stolen Maxita Pro marble cutter. In a separate case, Yusuf Ali’s arrest led to Maidul Islam, a key receiver of stolen goods, with police seizing cash, silver jewellery, and a Pulsar motorcycle from Islam’s property. Further probes resulted in apprehending Yusuf Ali (same name, different suspect) and Santanu Saikia, who admitted to multiple burglaries, yielding more stolen items. Additionally, 26-year-old Ahmed Ali from Nabajyoti Nagar was arrested with stolen gold jewellery.
