Poll Violence in Assam Leaves 30 Injured, Seven Arrested

Around 30 people were injured and seven arrested in poll-related violence across Assam.

In Patharkandi, Congress candidate Kartik Sena Sinha allegedly damaged an EVM after a dispute, triggering clashes with BJP supporters. Around 25 people were injured, and voting was halted for three hours.

In Khowang, three Assam Jatiya Parishad leaders were injured in a clash with BJP workers.

Fresh violence was also reported in Tamulpur and Sivasagar, where police fired in the air to control mobs and detained several people.

Police said most incidents were controlled, and investigations are ongoing.
