Polling Begins for 5th BTC Elections Across Five Districts

Voting for the 5th Bodoland Territorial Council elections began Monday across 40 constituencies in five districts. By 9:30 am, Kokrajhar recorded 12.7% turnout. Over 26.5 lakh voters are eligible, including 13.3 lakh women. Key leaders, including Hagrama Mohilary and Cabinet Minister UG Brahma, cast their votes. The main contest is between UPPL, led by Pramod Boro, and Hagrama’s BPF, while BJP contests solo for the first time. No untoward incidents were reported.
