President Murmu Expresses Wish to Visit Historic Patharughat in Assam

President Droupadi Murmu expressed her eagerness to visit Patharughat in Darrang, site of a historic peasants’ uprising, while interacting with Assam farmer Dipti Saharia at Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Independence Day reception. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also enquired about her women-led farmer producer company ‘Chira Seuji’, which has empowered nearly 500 women in the district.
