Prohibitory Orders Imposed Along Indo-Bangladesh Border in Cachar

Authorities in Cachar district have imposed prohibitory orders along the Indo-Bangladesh border to prevent extremist movements and smuggling. Issued under Section 163 of the BNSS, the order bans night movement within 1 km of the border and restricts boating on the Surma River without permission. Transport of essential goods between sunset and sunrise within a 5-km belt is also prohibited. The directive, effective immediately, will remain in force for two months to maintain law and order.
