Protest Erupts at Silchar Station Over Poor Rail Connectivity in Barak Valley

Amid persistent rail disruptions in Barak Valley, the Silchar-Lumding Broad Gauge Rupayan Sangram Committee staged a protest at Silchar Railway Station, demanding urgent construction of an alternative rail line from Lanka to Silchar via Chandranathpur. Protesters called for immediate release of the survey report, preparation of a DPR, and initiation of the project within this year. Tensions rose as police detained some agitators, though railway officials accepted the memorandum and promised to escalate the matter.
