Protests Erupt Over Alleged Medical Negligence in Kamrup Hospitals

Tensions flared at Tularam Bafna Kamrup District Civil Hospital after a newborn’s death. The grieving family accused gynecologist Dr. Nikunja Deka and Dr. Pallav Lochan Sharma of negligence. The baby, born to Dolly Kakoti, was referred to GMCH due to critical complications but passed away.

Protests at the hospital led to police intervention from Gauripur outpost to restore order.

In a similar incident at Boko Polyclinic, a 45-year-old woman, Himani Kalita, died after allegedly being unattended for hours. Families in both cases demand justice and investigations into the alleged negligence.
