Raijor Dal Starts Candidate Talks After Ending Alliance Negotiations with Congress

After ending alliance talks with the Congress, Raijor Dal has begun discussions with potential candidates for the upcoming 2026 Assam Assembly elections. Party chief Akhil Gogoi said interaction sessions with aspirants are being held at Bon Villa Retreat in Kaziranga for two days.

Many hopeful candidates from across Assam attended the meeting seeking party nominations. Sources say the party may soon release its second list of candidates as it prepares to contest the elections independently.

Raijor Dal ended months of negotiations with the Congress, alleging that the party failed to take a clear decision on an alliance and refused to concede several constituencies demanded by Raijor Dal.
