Railway Police Force Seizes 439 Bottles of Liquor from Train Staff at North Lakhimpur Station

The Railway Police Force (RPF) made a significant seizure of 439 bottles of liquor from a train at North Lakhimpur Railway Station. Five individuals, identified as Bedroll staff and On Board Housekeeping Service (OBHS) staff, were detained in connection with the incident. They are Bhumoni Kachari, Alexendar Dang, Sukumar Saikia (Bedroll staff), and Anupan Moran, Pranjal Tamuli (OBHS staff).

Acting on information from IPF/CIB/TSK, RPF officers at North Lakhimpur Railway Station discovered foreign liquor in Coach No-M/5 of Train No-15930 Dn (Tambaram Express) that was being transported by the detained railway staff. Upon the train’s arrival around 9:40 am, RPF personnel detained the individuals and recovered a total of 439 bottles of liquor. The seized liquor includes 345 bottles of Officer’s Choice whisky (180 ML, priced at Rs 86.00 per bottle), 75 bottles of Officer’s Blue whiskey (180 ML, priced at Rs 100.00 per bottle), and 19 bottles of Officer’s Choice whiskey (375 ML, priced at Rs 150.00 per bottle), with a total value of approximately Rs. 40,020.00.

Following the seizure, RPF handed over the confiscated liquor and the detained persons to the Excise Department in North Lakhimpur for further action.
