Rare Yellow-Throated Marten Captured on Camera in Kaziranga

A rare yellow-throated marten was recently photographed during routine camera trapping in Kaziranga National Park, confirming the presence of the species in the park’s semi-evergreen forest areas.

The tree-climbing mammal plays an important role in seed dispersal and maintaining ecosystem balance. According to Sonali Ghosh, the sighting is significant for local conservation efforts, despite the species being known to occur across the Himalayan region and Northeast India.
