Arun Goswami, a distinguished novelist and short story writer from Assam, passed away on Tuesday night at the age of 80 after battling prolonged illness. Goswami, known for his time-capturing novels and intriguing short stories, achieved a world record for writing the longest book spanning over 10,000 pages. His notable works, including ‘Kalakshana’ and ‘Salanta Biborini,’ gained widespread acclaim, reflecting his commitment to social responsibility. Beyond his role as a prolific writer, Goswami was recognized as a straightforward political analyst who consistently addressed the issue of insurgency in Assam.
