Residents of a rented area on VIP Road in Guwahati’s Six Mile are living in fear after a fallen tree snapped electric wires, electrifying their house and surroundings. The incident, which occurred on Monday, has endangered the lives of 10-15 tenants. Despite repeated calls to Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), the electricity department delayed their response, arriving two days later on Wednesday without resolving the issue. Officials requested an official application before taking action. The tenants, feeling abandoned and vulnerable, are demanding immediate intervention to ensure their safety.
