Rhino Found Dead in Kaziranga National Park; Believed to Have Died of Old Age

A distressing discovery unfolded in Biswanath district as the carcass of a rhinoceros was found at Gai Tapu, situated within the bounds of Kaziranga National Park. Workers from the Gai Tapu forest camp spotted the rhino carcass on the riverbank, prompting the intervention of the forest department. Upon recovery, it was revealed that the rhino’s horn remained intact. A post-mortem examination concluded that the animal had succumbed to old age, shedding light on the natural course of events in the park’s ecosystem.
