Ripun Bora Accuses Assam BJP Govt of Land Betrayal and Indigenous Marginalization
Senior Congress leader Ripun Bora has accused the BJP-led Assam government of betraying indigenous communities and handing over state land to corporate giants. In a press conference, he listed 30 allegations against CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s administration, including violent eviction drives displacing thousands and transferring over 50,000 bighas of land to companies like Adani, Reliance, and Patanjali. Bora also cited deaths during AIIMS and anti-CAA protests as examples of state oppression and condemned the branding of evictees as “suspected Bangladeshis.” He further accused the government of sidelining tribal leadership and cutting funds for marginalized communities.
