RTI Activist Dulal Bora Granted Bail in Connection to BJP Worker’s Suicide

Controversial RTI activist Dulal Bora was granted bail by the Gauhati High Court on Wednesday. He was arrested on September 25 in connection with the suicide of BJP worker Devojit Hazarika, who had named Bora in a note. Bora faced charges of extortion, conspiracy, and cheating. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma directed the Assam State Information Commission to act against Bora for allegedly misusing the RTI Act for personal gain. Investigations are ongoing to determine his role in Hazarika’s death and other alleged illegal activities.
