Sadiya College Commerce Students Protest, Demand Provincialisation

Students of the Commerce Department of Sadiya College staged a road protest on Friday, demanding immediate provincialisation of the department and alleging long-standing neglect. They said the Commerce stream, introduced in 2007, remains non-provincialised, unlike the Arts and Science streams.

The students alleged high fees, poor infrastructure, inadequate classrooms and irregular payment of teachers’ salaries, warning that continued neglect could threaten the department’s future. They urged the government to intervene and extend equal support to Commerce students.
