Saikia Accuses BJP of Misusing Public Funds, Rigging Ahead of Panchayat Polls

Leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia has accused the BJP of using fear, public funds, and government schemes to influence voters before Assam’s second phase of panchayat elections on May 7. He alleged Model Code of Conduct violations and poll rigging during the first phase. Saikia also criticized Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s “Panchamrit” scheme, denying Congress ever used such tactics. He dismissed allegations against Gaurav Gogoi as political distractions.
