Saikia Urges United Opposition to CAA in Assam

Assam Opposition leader Debabrata Saikia urged political and non-political groups to oppose the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), saying it violates the Assam Accord. He warned that government plans could grant citizenship to nearly five lakh foreigners, impacting Assam’s economy and resources. Saikia also alleged that directives to withdraw certain foreigner cases based on religion would further undermine the Accord.
