Schools Closed in Guwahati After Flash Floods

Authorities in Guwahati have ordered all educational institutions to remain closed on April 20 following flash floods caused by heavy rainfall.

The Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration issued the directive under the Disaster Management Act, citing safety concerns. Over 100 mm of rain fell within a few hours, leading to severe waterlogging.

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority has warned of possible landslides and advised residents to stay indoors unless necessary, as authorities monitor the situation closely.
