Scrap Collector Dies in Drain Tragedy at Digboi

Shyam Sundar Singh, a scrap collector, died after being trapped in a garbage-filled drain at Borbil, Digboi. Villagers blamed NHIDCL’s overbridge project for blocking sewage flow, calling it negligence. AOD Digboi Refinery expressed regret and allocated ₹1.5 crore for proper drainage.
