Sivasagar Book Fair Concludes with Strong Public Response

The 11-day Sivasagar Book Fair, organized by social organization Khoj with support from local residents, concluded on Thursday with a closing ceremony chaired by AASU general secretary Samiran Phukan. Books worth over ₹70 lakh were sold during the fair.

Sibsagar University Vice-Chancellor Dr Jagadish Patgiri attended as chief guest, along with JB University Vice-Chancellor Dr Jyoti Prasad Saikia and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi. Speakers highlighted the importance of reading in building a conscious society. Prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions held during the event.
