Six Jordanians Die from Heatstroke During Haj Pilgrimage in Mecca

Six Jordanians succumbed to heatstroke during the Haj pilgrimage in Mecca, as confirmed by the Jordanian foreign ministry. The victims were not part of the official delegation, which included over 4,000 pilgrims. The ministry is coordinating with Saudi officials on burial procedures and potential repatriation. This incident occurred as pilgrims gathered at Mount Arafat, with temperatures reaching 48 degrees Celsius. Saudi Arabia has deployed extensive resources, including soldiers, medical units, and volunteers, to assist pilgrims. The Haj pilgrimage, one of Islam’s five pillars, involves significant rites and attracts over 1.8 million participants this year.
