Smuggling of Foreign Currency Foiled in Mizoram and West Bengal

Two Myanmarese nationals were arrested in Mizoram’s Siaha district with ₹1.48 crore in foreign currency by Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police. Meanwhile, BSF foiled another smuggling attempt in West Bengal’s Cooch Behar, seizing foreign currency worth ₹89 lakh, including $103,800 USD and 100,000 Bangladeshi Taka. In Assam, two individuals were arrested in Dhubri for possessing counterfeit Indian currency and related equipment. Investigations are ongoing in all cases.
