Tea Garden Worker Critically Injured in Fall from Bamboo Bridge in Digboi

A 22-year-old tea garden worker, Sanjila Bawri, fell from a temporary bamboo bridge over a fast-flowing rivulet in Tokoni village, Digboi, Tinsukia district. She was rescued and rushed to Digboi CHC in an unconscious state. The bamboo bridge, built by locals due to delays in constructing a concrete bridge, connects Tokowni 1 and Tokowni 2 villages. Villagers have repeatedly informed the contractor about the halted construction and the resulting difficulties. Despite this, the contractor displayed indifference, even advising against hospitalizing the injured woman, claiming she would recover on her own.
