Tezpur Litchi Festival Begins, Exports Planned to Dubai and Singapore

The second edition of the Tezpur Litchi Festival began on Saturday, bringing together farmers, buyers and agri-entrepreneurs to promote the region’s renowned litchi. Over 50 exhibitors, 30 farmers and FPOs, and 20 domestic and international buyers are participating in the two-day event.

Sonitpur District Commissioner Anand Kumar Das announced that around one tonne of litchi will be exported to Dubai, with another consignment bound for Singapore. The festival also features technical sessions, buyer-seller meets, orchard visits and discussions on food technology and GI tagging to boost market opportunities for growers.
