Tezpur University Assistant Professor Suspended, FIR Filed Over Exam Paper Complaint

TEZPUR: A Tezpur University assistant professor has been suspended and a police case registered following allegations by two research scholars that they were instructed to prepare a B.Ed examination question paper. The paper, reportedly prepared under the supervision of Dr Antara Dey of the Department of Education, was allegedly collected from the scholars through WhatsApp. The students later submitted a complaint with supporting material, including screenshots and photographs.
Following the complaint, the university replaced the question paper and held the examination as scheduled. The matter was subsequently taken up with the University Grants Commission (UGC), after which the university registrar lodged an FIR at Borghat Police Outpost. Police registered Case No. 320/26 at Tezpur Sadar Police Station on June 9, and Dr Dey was suspended. The investigation is continuing, with the submitted evidence reportedly sent for forensic examination.
