Tezpur University Hosts Panel on Gender Pay Gap in India

The Department of Law, Tezpur University, organised a panel discussion on “Gender Pay Gap in India: Challenges, Realities and the Way Forward” on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026.
Experts discussed wage inequality in different sectors, highlighting issues such as opaque salary structures, disparities in the unorganised sector, and unequal pay for similar work. The speakers also stressed the need for continued efforts and stronger monitoring to address gender-based pay disparities in India.
