Three Escaped Undertrials Recaptured from Sadiya Jail, One Still at Large

Police on Wednesday night recaptured three of the four undertrial prisoners who escaped from Sadiya District Jail, officials said on Thursday. The arrested inmates have been identified as Huntu Sonowal, Nabin Buragohain and Anchan Jyoti Chetia, while one prisoner remains absconding. An intensive search is underway to trace the fourth escapee. The incident has raised concerns over jail security, prompting an on-site inspection by the Inspector General of Police (Prisons), who ordered a detailed probe into the escape and possible lapses.
